More on Mobile Phones

Cell phone, cell phones, cell phones recently I blog most about this tiny device. J

About 6 months ago my friend bought a great smart phone from Samsung for about approximately price of 10000 rupees (approximately 200$). Its Samsung galaxy but I am not highly sure about the type of galaxy phone he bought. Here is the fact, very few days ago his battery of the smart phone starts bulging and finally it s been bulged to the extent of the battery cannot fit inside the mobile phone itself.

The fact was mobile battery of him is no more of use since it intakes a charge only for about 10 minutes and then battery pisses off.

The reason behind these kinds of fault is definitely due to overcharging of battery.

There is my point. In India mobile phones have been greatly reached throughout the nation.

Internet has not been in the nation to a great level but it will show a great increase in the percentage of people who use internet in the future.

At the present time period about 10% of Indians use Internet. Smart phone users greatly use mobile for social networking and emailing. A recent survey show great results about that more percentage of Indians use smart phones for Internet access to things like social networking sites and emailing than Americans. It’s the percentage of people among the people who have bought Smartphone, apart from that there are only less number of users in India.

I like to give this info, I am not so sure that mobile battery has expiry date or something like that but, It is too common in places in the roadside even in my city, I am from Coimbatore (Southern Part of India) and many cities where one could see Nokia batteries sold like balloons for children. I will update the picture of this info later. These batteries are sold from dealers at cheaper rates and these salesmen will sell the goods for only the original rate for making profit. Its kindly.

Last but not the least mobile phone is very good to be chosen only from good branded industry which has good name. Rather those don’t go for buying cheaper phones.

There is a particular standard where a mobile phone can be called as “Green Phone” where the mobile is safer to use from radiations which are released from it. In this particular case, some mobile phones which have facility to use more than two mobile simcards are likely to be avoided.

There is no developed country preferring the toy mobiles of more simcard mobiles since it. Only for this reason people are asked to buy genuine products from reputed companies.

My Final Year Project

Finally I became a final year student in my graduation of Electronics and communication engineering. This is the year where I need to submit the abstract for the project which I need to device with the my dept (Electronics and communication) engineering concepts and create abstract for the present semester, Followed by moving on and working with it in the next semester. First step is choosing the area of interest unfortunately my area of interest is software programming. Hence I am interested in the programming part of the device I made and succeed. You may question me why I took Electronics, when I have Interest in software programming. But I need to say that I was pushed, but I was not guilty because I have chance to get software job. In the time period of when I finished my higher secondary school graduation it was 2009. That was the year when there was a huge crisis across the globe in the field of software. Hence the surrounding people around made impact on my choice of choosing the department for my college. I will now proceed with getting good job in Software Company after my graduation. So that’s not a great issue to be spoken about and also I didn’t say that I hate Electronics and communication Engineering.

The project:

So, at the present time when I am typing this post, I AM in the process of development a concept in embedded systems. The concept is about a mobile phone and computer interfacing device which is used for making users type faster in computer using T9 language support of mobile with computer for word processing. The question you might probably ask, why we need to substitute keypads mobile phones for typing. The question is too simple to explain. In India basically not only people from rural but also from urban cities people doesn’t get aware about new technologies which are available in the present world like Iphone,Ipad, etc. Cost is the first factor. Due to this reason people are unaware about many things with the usage of the hardware. But somehow today, Cell phones have reached the major population of the country.

People who knews English have great easiness in using the T9 Support of mobile phones for typing messages(SMS). On the other hand many people didn’t get easiness in typing in the keyboard. For this reason my concept of making the mobile phone and computer interfacing. This could be useful for slow keyboard strokers.

The first advantage which I also like to put in front is the recycling of Old keypad mobile phones which has support for T9 languages.

I have already stated in one of my previous posts in my blog – One of my post regarding Ewaste control which involves a technique of recycling of old mobile phones. In that post I have already quoted yet I need to state the same fact here.

Only 10% of the mobile phones which are abandoned by first hand person are received or reused by the second person after abandoning.  The rest are simply “Electronic Waste”.

This is the concept which I use in my project that lies under my project. My staff in charge of my batch need to approve it for my proceedings. Lets see what happens.

I will also blog about what has happened inside the review of my project to the staff in charge. Until then, Wait for that readers. Thanks for reading.🙂

For controlling electronic waste

In our present world of electronics. Today’s technology is tomorrow’s dust. For the past decade there has been a huge development in the field of cell phones. Starting from Camera, Radio, Infrared, Bluetooth, WiFi etc. But were thus the people reuse the mobile when a mobile has been abandoned. A report says that only 10% of the mobile phones are reused to the second hand. I recently done a small idea with one of my old mobile phone which for time being purpose for e-waste control. I presently have a Nokia phone with decent features of music player and camera. I also have a Basic mobile set of LG which is helpful only for messaging and simple data transfer such as bmp files of 128*128 which can be used as its wallpaper for mobile via messaging. This is one of the abandoned mobile which is present in my home because it goes to sale just for 300 rupees which is approximately $6(U.S) today(Date I am writing this blog post-(18.05.2012)). The basic mobile set of L.G was bought by my dad in the year 2007 for about 2500 rupees which is $50(U.S) Selling a mobile phone to approximately 10% is the only way but the battery was in perfect condition and more than many things, This mobile phone “doesn’t hang”. So, I simply planted a small idea to recycle the phone by using it at the time period of when we need less features for mobile for the particular period of time. For the past twenty days I was trying only this. I was having study leave for semester exams and I was only at home for most days. So there is no need for mobile camera since digital camera is the substitute for that in my home. For this reason I replaced the SIMCard of my Nokia phone to the basic mobile set where there is a need only for messaging and I was happy using it :-). I actually love using this mobile as I took initiative to control e waste to some extent. Then what I did with the Nokia phone? you may ask. I used it as a portable multimedia device for watching videos. After the end of the study leave I replaced the SIMCard in my Nokia phone  and I will wait for another time like this. It might sound silly for some people but I made it to make a useful thing out of abandoned things. 🙂

Tech Post: Nokia 5130 xpressmusic funny video clip

This is a funny video featuring about my phone Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic. I just came around after the phone is been flashed and suddenly when I looked into it I noticed a peculiar thing happened. So it turned out to be my chance to take video using my Digital Camera..:-).

This is an unusual video of how a mobile phone shows “charging animation ” when there is no power connection…:-)

Review about my phone:Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic

Hello readers. This is my first post about an electronic device, an electronic device which every person shrink his or her sound and surroundings into a small thing.

Its about a review about a mobile phone:
The mobile phone which I like to review is “Nokia 5130 Xpress music”

The year on which it is released: 2008

The phone is exceptionally famous for its excellent music output in loud speaker and headphones.

Note this date: I blogged this at the date of 12.05.2011.

Presently this mobile phone is widely sold in India particularly due to the following reasons:

* Price tag is just Rupees 4000 (approx $88) at this date 12.05.2011.

* Since it is not touch mobile, for “Messaging” it is an undoubtfully advantageous phone.

* User friendly nature of the Java operating system.

Now, What I willed to post here is about the condition of my Nokia 5130 xpressmusic mobile:

Age of my phone: 1 year and 7 months

The condition of the phone will slowly fade away from the form which it had when the phone was newly bought. Yes obviously
this will fit for any device. I like to share what I had controversies with my mobile which is slightly a kind of disadvantageous I felt in my phone and also I like the readers to may a view over it and gain some advantageous information about the buyers of this phone and also for people who bought this phone with this post.

* Nokia 5130 is famous for hanging when memory card is seriously dumped. Actually this phone normally has this kind of fault,

Which I found with most of the users of the same brand. This is a parent fault of this brand.

To avoid or delay this parent defect in phone, The following three things can be done with the phone:
* Avoiding dumping the memory card to full.
* Mostly avoiding using phone memory for saving files.
* Avoiding saving messages to the extend of about 3000 messages in inbox.

Then, What happened to my phone now”????????

THIS WAS ONE MONTH AGO:

The problem started with frequent hanging of the phone which proportionately increased with its age.

One day the phone ultimately crashed and even the phone memory got washed out of contacts.

I used phone memory for saving contact numbers always because “Full lengthed name can be written and saved”
Only for this advantage.

Thanks to the backup I taken the previous day, It helped me to restore everything.
So I recommend frequent backup an ultimate neccessary not only for this condition to use only phone memory but also for saving calender, settings and so on.

================================================
It is so simple,

In the menu:
Settings-> Sync and Backup-> Create Backup
And after the backup is created rename the backup file with the date on which the backup was taken for sefety purpose. 🙂

================================================
* The inbuilt themes were automatically deleted.
* Settings were restored to the native settings.
* Even the new words added to the messaging dictionary were deleted.

Look at the following picture:
This was the display of the Radio in phone:

Display of RADIO

Display of RADIO

Only the display of the radio is black in colour, But at that time it works with this black display.

Look at the following picture:

This was the display of the Music Player in phone:

Display of Music Player

Display of Music Player

This is the picture of the music player when I tried to open, It displays the message “Operation Failed“.
In this case the music player didnt works in normal launch of the music player application.
But when the play button in the side of the phone is clicked it will start playing the music.

THIS IS THE PRESENT STATE OF MY PHONE (Date: 12.05.2010):

Watch this video and you will understand what it defines:

* The music player doesnt work even with the side buttons.
* The radio fails to initiate even displaying the message “Connect your headsets”

Finally I rectified the problem arosed on 12.05.11 but somehow the old problem before a month still exists..

I liked to share this to more people and g people knew about this device’s performance with its aging,

So I posted about this 🙂

🙂 Thanks for reading 🙂
